May 2006 :       Veterinarian Thermography Introduction

                           Dr. Donna Harper, DVM - Roswell, NM

                                  Dr. Harper Has a B.S. in Veterinary Science from  

                                  Colorado State Univ. 1971 and a D.V.M. in Veterinary

                                  Medicine also from CSU 1973.  She is one of the

                                  three founding members of the Equine Heros 

                                  Foundation which works with equine leg/foot

                                  amputations.  In 1997-98, Dr. Harper took form

                                  training in prosthetics from Nova Care Inc. Since

                                  completing that training she has developed several

                                  prosthetic equine foot replacement prototypes.  She

                                  has held a veterinary license in Texas and New

                                  Mexico since 1973; various veterinary, training and

                                  other licenses from the New Mexico State Racing

                                  Commission since 1973 and is a past president of

                                  the Chaplain's Council for The Downs at Albuquerque.

October 2006 :  Veterinarian Thermography Course - Vetel Diagnostics

                             Dr. Jim Waldsmith - The Equine Center

                                  San Luis Obispo, CA

 

                                  Dr. Waldsmith’s private practice focuses on

                                  performance horses. He was selected as imaging 

                                  specialist for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta

                                  and the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg,

                                  Manitoba. He received his veterinary degree from

                                  Michigan State University in 1982, and was Board

                                  Certified in Veterinary Thermal Imaging by the

                                  American Board of Thermology in 2002. His practice

                                  at The Equine Center emphasizes sports medicine   

                                  and rehabilitation, wellness maintenance, and r

                                  reproduction. His presentations to groups such as

                                  AAEP, AVMA, and AESM are characterized by his

                                  engaging speaking style and strong visual materials.

 

 

October 2006:   Saddle Fit Using Thermography

                             Mike Corcoran - Corcoran Saddlery - Argyle, TX

 

                                 Mike has been a saddle maker and fitter for over 20

                                 years.  He has worked in England with some of the

                                 finest saddle makers.  Mike is an avid horseman

                                 and has ridden his whole life in a variety of disciplines

                                 including dressage, jumping, eventing, reining,

                                 cutting and mounted shooting.  Because of his

                                 experience, Mike has a deep understanding of the

                                 conformation of the horse as well as the rider and

                                 how all of these things pertain to saddle fit.

                          Evaluating the Sore Performance Horse

                            Anoka Equine Veterinary Services, LTD. - Elk River, MN

                            Dr. Tracy Turner, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS

                                  Dr. Tracy Turner attended veterinary school at

                                  Colorado State University, did an internship at the

                                  University of Georgia, and completed his surgical

                                  residency and M.S. at Purdue University.  In 1986,

                                  Dr. Turner became a Diplomat, American College of

                                  Veterinary Surgeons.  He has served on staff as

                                  associate professor at the University of Illinois and

                                  also at the University of Florida.  Dr. Turner was

                                  also a professor at the University of Minnesota

                                  where he served as Chief of Large Animal Surgery

                                  for three years.  His special areas of interest are

                                  equine lameness, navicular disease, orthopedics,

                                  podiatry and back issues.  In 2004 Dr. Turner was one

                                  of 3 veterinarians inducted into the International

                                  Equine Veterinarians Hall of Fame.

                              their initial publication, Infraspection Institute

                              guidelines have been adopted by hundreds of

                              companies worldwide and incorporated into

                              documents published by recognized standards

                              organizations such as the American Society for

                                   Testing and Materials (ASTM).
